Classes consist of: Written and oral exercises, conversation, information about services in the community, and helpful homework assignments. English classes made possible by a grant from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation. Come to the Center on Saturday morning from 9AM to 12PM to talk to Maria in person.

Adults from various cultural backgrounds come together to learn to read, write, speak, and listen to the English language. Foreign speaking adults are placed in introductory, beginning, or intermediate classes to improve their communication, reading, and writing skills. The diverse population represents people of various ages. All instruction is in English.

All day and evening classes are free of charge thanks to funding by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Employment Links, and the Robinson Broadhurst Foundation.

Literacy Volunteers of the Montachusett Area provides support for students with free, confidential, and individualized tutoring in basic reading and English for speakers of other languages. Informal assessment of students determines appropriate placement with a tutor. ESOL conversation groups practice conversational English.
