Foundation Directory Online (FDO) is the Foundation Center's database of over 140,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S, over 2.2 million recently awarded grants; and a keyword-searchable database of recently filed IRS Forms 990 and 990-PF. Library staff trainers are available by appointment to assist you if you need help to get started with your database research.

If you are already familiar with searching the databases, you may use the resources of the Grant Resource Center at any time without assistance.

You may save the results of your search on a flash drive, or you may send the results to your email.

For your convenience, you may make a reservation for a specific date and time to use the Grant Resource Center’s computer to search the databases, or you may set up an appointment to meet with a trainer to help you get started with your database searches.

There is also a collection of books on grant proposal writing in the Grant Resource Center (GRC). Browse the GRC Collection Here.

     • What is my organization’s mission statement?
     • What services does my organization provide?
     • What population does my organization serve?
     • What is the program/endeavor I am seeking funding for?
     • How much money am I looking for and how will it be used?
     • What is my organization’s tax status?

The library staff/community volunteer trainers are available by appointment to help you begin the research you need to identify grant makers. They can familiarize you with the databases and help you to formulate queries that will help you identify potential funders.
